The President of the Republic takes office in accordance with the statutory procedure during special session of the NKR National Assembly swearing the following oath:
“Assuming the post of the President of the Nagorno Karabagh Republic I swear to fulfill unconditionally all the requirements of the Constitution, to respect human rights and freedoms, to ensure sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and security of the Republic to the glory of the Nagorno Karabagh Republic and for the prosperity of our people.
