Dear compatriots,
Today I address you, our world-spread sisters and brothers, the participants of the already traditional annual telethons, all those who make efforts to recover and develop our Motherland.
For many years with your versatile and active participation numerous objects of vital importance, roads, cultural and educational centers have been reconstructed and built, key strategic socio-economic programs have been implemented in Artsakh.
All of them serve one goal, which is to build a powerful country, firmly follow the path of strengthening our statehood, have battleworthy army and be ready for a fitting rebuff to any encroachment on the freedom and independence of our people.
Friends, due to your assistance living conditions and well-being of our people are improving year by year, various problems are being solved.
The next urgent problem is the reconstruction and development of Shoushi, one of the ancient Armenian towns, which has had a great historical importance in the life of our people. In its time it was among the pan-Armenian political, economic, cultural, scientific and educational centers. Many great representatives of our nation, prominent artists, military and political figures were born and worked here.
During its history Shoushi has faced many ordeals. In 1920 the town was destroyed and Armenian population was expelled from it, thousands of innocent people perished, while the survived ones spread around the world. In 1992 Shoushi became the first historical Armenian town liberated from hostile yoke.
It was a nationwide victory, the victory of our right to live freely and independently, the revival of self-confidence in our strength. It has freed our people from the complex of victim and has laid a firm foundation for building a powerful statehood on the Armenian soil.
The development of the town is of paramount importance for our republic. It is our duty to achieve the dreams of heroes who scarified their lives for the liberation of Shoushi and accomplish their unfinished work. This crucial mission we can realize only by joint efforts, by unifying the potential of all the segments of the world spread Armenians.
Compatriots,
The development of Shoushi is a matter of honor for us. It will once again demonstrate the world cumulative power and will of our people, unity in solving issues of pan-Armenian importance.
I am confident that together we will make Shoushi flourish, will bring back its past glory and will leave modern, prosperous and developing town to the generations to come.
On behalf of all people of Artsakh, residents of Shoushi and myself personally I express sincere appreciation to our compatriots contributing their mite to this patriotic and crucial undertaking. Thank you. Good luck and all the best to you.
