On 25 March President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan sent a condolence letter to the family of Bogdan Janyan in connection with his death.
The letter runs as follows:
«I have learnt with deep sorrow of the death of famous poet, devoted son of Artsakh Bogdan Janyan, a person who has dedicated the best years of his life to expressing hopes and desires of his own people, to realization of national ideas and goals.
Having passed a rich literary path he was among the founders and organizers of the literal hearths in Artsakh, leaders of the national liberation renaissance in the 1960s and had borne the very burden of Soviet pressure. However, he managed to keep his spirit inflexible setting an example for the contemporaries and generations to come. The name of Bogdan Janyan will always remain bright in the hearts of the compatriots.
In connection with this irretrievable loss I express my sincere sympathies and condolences to all relatives and friends of the deceased, numerous admirers of his fruitful pen and comrades-in-arms».
