On 12 June President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan sent a condolence letter to the family of Vayotsdzor Region's governor Vartges Matevosyan in connection with his death. The letter runs as follows:
"I have learnt with deep sorrow of the untimely death of state and political figure, governor of the Vayotsdzor Region Vartges Matevosyan.
On behalf of the authorities of the Artsakh Republic and myself I express deepest sympathies and condolences to all relatives, friends and fellow party members of the deceased.
During this sorrow we grieve together with you over the irretrievable loss and wish you courage and strength of spirit".
